A number of factors will determine the cost of moving. Key considerations include: 1) the amount of goods being transported, 2) distance travelled, 3) type of vehicle needed, 4) size of crew, 5) speed of packing. As a rule of thumb, you can hire a van to move a one-bedroom or two-bedrooms flat; but to move a house with three bedrooms or more, it is highly recommended to hire a removal company with a professional crew.
We can offer a rough estimation of the moving cost over the phone, provided that essential information such as the list of your possessions and the moving locations are given correctly. But for a more precise quote, we will need to visit your property either offline in person or online via a video survey. Factors such as restricted access or very tight stairways may affect the final pricing.
It would be helpful to send us a briefing sheet that includes:
– any items needing special packing, such as pictures, antiques and valuable objects
– difficult-to-move items, such as pianos
– wardrobes or other large furniture that may need to be dismantled
– any carpets and curtains that are going with you
– items that you are moving yourself
– a floor plan of the new property so that our staff can put boxes in the correct rooms when unloading
We move all types of pianos. We have special tools, trolleys and techniques to move heavy, large or awkward items. Prices vary depending on type and difficulty of access.
More manpower doesn’t necessary mean that it will cost you more. Adding a 3rd person to your move speeds the process by up to 30-40%. It is also a lot safer if you have bad access and/or heavy items.
